Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the VOKKA platform (the "Platform"), operated by Vokka Technologies ("VOKKA", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

These Terms apply to all users, including buyers, brands (artisans and designers), and riders.

2. The Platform

VOKKA is a marketplace that connects buyers with Nigerian artisans and fashion brands ("Brands") for the purchase of handmade, custom, and ready-to-wear fashion items. VOKKA is not a party to the transaction between a buyer and a brand — we provide the technology and logistics infrastructure.

VOKKA reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time with reasonable notice.

3. Accounts

To place an order or list products, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and current information
  • Keep your password confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account at vokka.tech@gmail.com
  • Be at least 18 years of age

You are responsible for all activity under your account. VOKKA may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Buyer Terms

4.1 Placing Orders

When you place an order, you are making a binding offer to purchase the item(s) at the stated price. An order is confirmed when the brand accepts it. VOKKA will notify you of acceptance or rejection.

4.2 Payment

All prices are in Nigerian Naira (₦). Payment is currently accepted via Bank Transfer. You must complete payment within 24 hours of placing an order. Failure to pay within this window may result in order cancellation.

4.3 Custom & Made-to-Order Items

Many items on VOKKA are custom-made to your specifications and body measurements. Once production has begun, cancellations may not be accepted and refunds may be limited. See Section 6 (Returns & Refunds) for full details.

4.4 Delivery

Estimated production and delivery times are provided by brands and are estimates only. VOKKA is not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control. You will be notified of your order status at each stage.

5. Brand Terms

5.1 Listing Products

Brands may list handmade, artisan, or custom-fashion products on the Platform. By listing a product, you warrant that:

  • You have the right to sell the item
  • The listing is accurate and not misleading
  • The item does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
  • You can fulfil the stated production timeline

5.2 Commission

VOKKA charges a 10% commission on the product total of each completed order, plus 7.5% VAT on the commission amount. Your payout will be the product total less commission and VAT. Logistics fees are handled separately.

5.3 Order Acceptance

Brands must accept or decline new orders within 48 hours. Failure to respond may result in automatic cancellation and may affect your standing on the Platform.

5.4 Prohibited Listings

Brands may not list counterfeit goods, stolen items, hazardous materials, or any item that violates applicable law. VOKKA may remove any listing and suspend any brand account without notice for violations.

6. Returns & Refunds

6.1 Custom-Made Items

Custom-made and made-to-measure items are generally non-refundable once production has begun, except where:

  • The item delivered is materially different from what was ordered
  • The item has a manufacturing defect
  • The item was not delivered within the agreed timeline and you did not accept a revised timeline

6.2 Ready-to-Wear Items

For non-custom items, you may request a return within 7 days of delivery if the item is unused, unworn, and in its original condition. The buyer bears return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error or a defective item.

6.3 Refund Process

Approved refunds will be processed within 5–10 business days via Bank Transfer to your registered bank account. To initiate a return or refund, contact us at vokka.tech@gmail.com with your order reference number.

7. Shipping & Logistics

VOKKA arranges logistics through its rider network. Logistics fees are calculated based on delivery distance and service type (material pickup, product pickup, final delivery) and are displayed at checkout before you confirm your order.

Risk of loss passes to the buyer upon delivery confirmation. VOKKA recommends opting for delivery insurance at checkout for high-value orders.

We currently serve select cities in Nigeria. Delivery to other locations may be arranged on a case-by-case basis.

8. Intellectual Property

The VOKKA name, logo, and website content are the intellectual property of Vokka Technologies. You may not use them without our written permission.

Brands retain ownership of their product designs and images. By listing on VOKKA, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your product images and descriptions on the Platform for promotional purposes.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent VOKKA's fees by transacting directly with brands or buyers found through the Platform
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Submit false or misleading information
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy any part of the Platform
  • Introduce malware or attempt to gain unauthorised access

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, VOKKA is not liable for:

  • Disputes between buyers and brands
  • The quality, fit, or accuracy of custom-made items
  • Delays caused by third-party logistics or circumstances beyond our control
  • Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
  • Any indirect or consequential damages

Our total liability in any matter relating to the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant order.

11. Disputes Between Buyers and Brands

If a dispute arises between a buyer and a brand, we encourage both parties to resolve it directly. If resolution is not possible within 7 days, either party may escalate the dispute to VOKKA by emailing vokka.tech@gmail.com with the order reference and a description of the issue.

VOKKA will review disputes and may, at its discretion, issue refunds, facilitate mediation, or take other action including suspending involved accounts.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
